KMS TB-500 Plate, Compartment Tray & Tray Drying Machine

Plates coming out of a dishwasher are rarely service-ready: water pools at the rim, and limescale and detergent marks stay on the surface. In a kitchen producing meals at scale, that means hundreds of plates dried one by one with a cloth, or stacked wet. The KMS TB-500 plate drying machine automates the step, wiping, drying and preparing plates, compartment trays and trays of different sizes for service at an average of 500 an hour.

In the TB-500, each piece passes between microfibre brushes that dry, polish and keep it hygienic. Hot air from a 1,000 W heating element evaporates the water while the brushes wipe and polish the surface. One machine handles three different item types — round plates, compartment trays and rectangular trays — with no separate equipment. The damp and odour that build up in plates stacked wet go away as well. Because pieces come out dry and polished, they can go straight onto the rack or the service line.

The machine is designed for the pace of contract catering. In hospital and school canteens, factory kitchens, catering production sites, hotel dishrooms and military kitchens, where hundreds of compartment trays and trays go round at every meal, drying is often the slowest link in the line. The TB-500 speeds that link up and gives the staff hours spent on drying cloths back to the rest of the kitchen.

The body is 304 grade stainless steel. The machine measures 70 × 50 × 65 cm, weighs 70 kg and runs on 220 V 50 Hz. The microfibre brushes come out for cleaning and are replaced when they wear; keeping them clean directly decides how hygienic every dried piece is. Together with a TBS-1000 dish pre-wash machine, the TB-500 forms a complete hygiene line: the TBS-1000 scrapes off food waste before the main wash, the dishwasher washes, and the TB-500 dries each piece ready for service. It is also part of the Hygiene Set of 3, with a KMS-7000 cutlery polisher and 25 kg of drying granules. It is manufactured in Türkiye by KMS, carries a 2-year warranty and is CE documented.
