Chocolate Fountain Stainless Tank Lid

In a chocolate fountain, chocolate moves in a continuous loop: it rises from the tank up the spout, pours out and returns to the tank. The loop closes at the lid covering the tank opening. This chocolate fountain lid is the genuine stainless steel spare part for MeyChoco and Fondue chocolate machines. The curved slots in the lid let chocolate pouring from the spout drain back into the tank.

The lid does two jobs at once. First, it is the chocolate’s way home: the slots guide the flowing chocolate back into the tank and keep the flow looking smooth and even. Second, it protects: the tank opening is never left open, direct access to the moving parts and hot chocolate inside is blocked, and nothing falls into the chocolate from outside. As the part that finishes the top of the machine, it is also a visible part of the presentation.

In daily use the lid is the first surface chocolate splashes on. The end-of-day routine in the user manual is to wipe chocolate splashed on the lid and top with a cloth; for a full clean, parts are cleaned with hot water and a brush. Stainless steel stands up to that cleaning and keeps its shape for years. Even so, a lid can bend or get lost through a drop, a knock or heavy use, and a lid whose slots have lost their shape stops chocolate returning evenly and breaks up the flow. After cleaning, make sure the slots are clear; a slot with set chocolate in it makes pouring chocolate pool on top of the lid.
