KMS Drying & Polishing Granules — 25 kg (5×5 kg)

A cutlery polisher is only as good as the granules inside it. KMS drying and polishing granules are a natural, plant-based product made specifically for KMS cutlery polishers. They take the moisture off knives, forks and spoons coming wet out of the dishwasher and polish their surface at the same time, so cutlery leaves the machine spotless and ready for service. To keep your machine drying and polishing as it should, we recommend the genuine KMS granules it was designed around.

The only raw material is natural corn cob. According to the product’s Safety Data Sheet it contains nothing else, and it is not classified as hazardous for physical, chemical, health or environmental reasons. It is a solid, granular product, yellowish to brown in colour. Because there is no synthetic or chemical polish in it, it leaves no residue on the cutlery.

The principle is simple. The machine’s heating element keeps the granules warm; wet cutlery passes through them, leaves its moisture behind, and is polished by the friction. The warm granules then give that moisture off and dry out again, so they keep working at the same level all day. The 8 W UV-C lamp in every KMS cutlery polisher sterilises the granules and the cutlery during drying.

The granules ship as five 5 kg packs, 25 kg in total. Packing them this way has a practical advantage: unopened packs stay protected from moisture while they are sealed, and you open them one at a time as you need them. The Safety Data Sheet advises storing the granules in the tightly closed original packaging, somewhere dry and cool, away from direct sunlight, heat sources and open flame. How often to replace them depends on how much cutlery you dry each day; for best performance we recommend replacing them roughly every 1.5 to 2 months.
